God calls us uniquely and equips each of us with special talents. You can make a unique contribution in the body of Christ and we want to help put your gifts and passions to work. At Southwood Lutheran, we offer serving opportunities at Southwood, in the community and around the world. It’s Christmas in July at Southwood!  

Southwood's Community Mission partners and Care Ministries use gift cards collected in July to support people in need.  You can help by purchasing gift cards for gas, groceries or casual restaurants in any amount.  Bring the cards to Southwood Central to be distributed to our Community Mission Partners and Care Ministries. 

Donated gift cards provide:

  • Gas for someone to be able to get to work
  • Runza meal for a family while Mom is in the hospital
  • A way to buy groceries for someone who lost their job
  • Compassion and understanding during challenging times

Prayer Cards

Create handmade cards that are sent to Southwood members following a hospitalization or illness.

Knit or crochet prayer shawls to be delivered to those needing extra support.

Short-Term Mission Trips

Short-term mission teams focus on building relationships with the churches and communities we visit. Southwood visits Honduras and Tanzania each year for a time of learning and serving with our partners.
