Prayer Shawl

Care

Do you enjoy knitting or crocheting? Use your gifts to knit or crochet a prayer shawl to be given to someone dealing with a serious illness or difficult life circumstance. Small baby blankets are also made and given to babies when they are baptized at Southwood.

Complete these at home or meet with others at Southwood on scheduled meeting dates. The prayer shawl group typically meets on the 1st & 3rd Wednesdays at 6:30PM and the 2nd Thursday at 10AM. Feel free to attend whichever group works best for you.

Christmas Giving Trees at Southwood

Giving Trees are up and filled with Christmas wish tags from our Mission Partners and Southwood Families and Community Members. By taking a tag from the trees at Southwood or online and returning the requested gift, you will brighten Christmas for someone in difficult circumstances.

Your kindness and generosity will help

  • Friendship Home – women and children escaping abuse
  • Saratoga Elementary students
  • Tabitha residents
  • Lutheran Family Services - refugee families
  • Regional Center residents
  • Children in Tanzania or Honduras
  • Mourning Hope – children grieving the loss of a loved one
  • Someone in our church experiencing crisis

Online tags are available here, where you can have items shipped directly to Southwood:  Online Giving Trees

Bring your new, unwrapped gift (with the Giving Tree tag attached) to the bins at Southwood Central by December 7 to have them delivered to our partners and families in time for Christmas.
