We are Called to Serve

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms.
1 Peter 4:10 (NIV)

God calls us uniquely and equips each of us with special talents. You can make a unique contribution in the body of Christ and we want to help put your gifts and passions to work. At Southwood Lutheran, we offer serving opportunities at Southwood, in the community and around the world. Learn more about each serving opportunity and find a fit for you using the descriptions below.

Because of God's Grace
Lent at Southwood
Our theme on Wednesday, March 4th is Because of God's grace, we are community!
As a community, we serve others. The lenten meal will be a sack lunch served in the cafe from 5:30 - 6:30PM, so that we can serve together in the Fellowship Hall. Beginning at 5pm, volunteers will be able to pack meal ingredients with Mercy Meals. There are multiple shifts open for people to serve for 30 minutes. There are ways to help before and after the event, too.

The meals packed during the evening will be shipped all over the world to feed those in high poverty areas or communities devastated by disasters.
