Care Team

Care

Are you looking for a meaningful way to share Christ's love and make a real difference in the lives of others? At Southwood we love God and others. One way we love others is through Southwood Care Ministry. Care Ministry Care Team volunteers provide prayer and compassionate guidance, connecting others to God. Together we experience the love and care of Christ as we walk alongside others through every season of life.

Sunday, August 23, 11AM - 2PM

We invite you to consider serving on our Care Ministry Care Team in one of the following areas:

• Care Center Worship – Helps to lead worship services in long-term care centers throughout the Lincoln community.

• Funeral Assistance – Serves on a team that prepares for funerals, assists during services, and helps with clean-up afterward.

• Phone Connection – Offers support, encouragement, and fellowship through outreach calls to congregation members.

• In-Home & Care Center Visitation – Visits Southwood homebound members in their homes or in long-term care centers.

• New Parent Connection – Prepares baptism gifts and connects with families following baptisms to offer support and encouragement.

• Rehabilitation Center Visitation – Visits Southwood members receiving care in Lincoln-area rehabilitation centers.

Care Ministry Care Team training includes discussion, demonstrations, small-group interaction, and practical skill-building. All training materials and lunch will be provided.

Not Sure Where to Serve?     Help Me!

Christmas in July

It’s Christmas in July at Southwood!

Southwood's Community Mission partners and Care Ministries use gift cards collected in July to support people in need. You can help by purchasing gift cards for gas, groceries or casual restaurants in any amount. Bring the cards to Southwood Central to be distributed to our Community Mission Partners and Care Ministries.

When you donate a gift card, you provide things like:

• Gas for someone to be able to get to work
• Runza meal for a family while Mom is in the hospital
• A way to buy groceries for someone who lost their job
• Compassion and understanding during challenging times
