Psalm 145:10-13
All of your works will thank you, Lord, and your faithful followers will praise you. They will speak of the glory of your kingdom; they will give examples of your power. They will tell about your mighty deeds and about the majesty and glory of your reign. For your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom. You rule throughout all generations. Psalm 145:10-13 (NLT)
I love a good love story. Give me books, movies, and/or television shows where it begins with a meet cute moment followed by good relationship vibes, mixed with mistaken misunderstandings, forgiveness, and a happy ending. As I read this Psalms passage as written by David, I imagined David’s love relationship with God. David was introduced to God’s direct calling when this little shepherd boy was brought to Samuel and he was anointed as the future king of Israel (meet cute moment). David grew in his relationship with God through his devoted heart for God and His word (good relationship vibes). David made his share of mistakes (misunderstandings), but God’s mercy (forgiveness) was always there. David recognized his sins, repented, and passionately worshiped his God. Not only did David praise and glorify God’s majesty, but he encouraged all generations to fall in love with God and his everlasting kingdom through faith (a happy ending).
Thank you, King David, for showing us, through your written words, the greatest love story of all!
Questions for Reflection:
- How can you deepen your understanding and love of God?
- In what ways can you share God’s love with others?
Prayer:
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your love, grace, and mercy. Guide my actions to love and serve others in your name. Amen
