We offer Sunday School at the 8:30, 9:45 and 11:00 AM worship hours for children ages 3 years old through 5th Grade. Children first gather in age-appropriate classrooms at the beginning of each hour, then join other classes for our Large Group experience. In Large Group we sing songs and tell the Bible story in an engaging style. Back in the classroom we focus on connecting the Bible point of the day with interactive crafts, games and lively discussion.
If you are interested in joining Sunday School at Southwood or just want to check it out for a Sunday or two, stop by Education Station in the Sunday School wing on the lower level. We will get you registered and introduce you to your class. You may choose from three Sunday School hours, 8:30, 9:45 or 11AM.

Primary registration for the beginning of Fall Sunday School starts at 8:00 AM on the first Saturday of August. Registration is online on our website. If you miss the registration, just come to Education Station by the Sunday School wing and we will get you registered.
If you are a first-time visitor and would just like to check us out, arrive a few minutes prior to your Worship Hour at Education Station in the lower level and we will place your child in their age-appropriate classroom.
Occupational Therapists will work with you and your child to create an individualized plan so that they can participate in all the Sunday School fun! Just make a note in your child’s registration and we will contact you.

We have an electronic check-in system that provides a guardian label for children ages 3 through 2nd Grade that will be printed out upon entering the church and must be presented to pick up your child.
There will be check-in stations on the lower level of the church by Education Station where you will be able to give your name and then print out a label for your child and a guardian label should your child be ages 3 through 2nd Grade. This guardian label must be shown to pick up your child.
What started in 2020 as a dream to offer students in the Uswaa region a place to learn a curriculum in the English language at a young age (3 through 9 years) has grown exponentially. Most primary schools are taught in the Swahili language but all secondary schools are required to test in English. As you can imagine, students struggle to be successful and continue on with their education. With this option in the area, the school is overflowing with students!!
70 students were enrolled in 2020 and now that number has increased to 613 students!!! There can be up to 100 students in a classroom with four to a desk! Plus, there is a fee to attend that many cannot afford, but no student is turned away. What a difference we could make for these students!
Funds are needed to purchase food, school supplies, transportation, repairs and additions and to support the teachers.
