Many of us are familiar with the stories of Jesus in the Gospel that we learned in Sunday School and periodic readings. We may even be able to recite some of the memory passages. Yet is there more to the stories? In this study, we’ll explore the deeper layers—uncovering historical and cultural backgrounds, connections to the Old Testament, theological insights, and the lasting impact these stories had on those who lived them and on us today.
