Southwood Seniors-Dogs in Ministry: Serving Others on Four Paws

Wednesday, 4/8/26 at 12:00pm

About the Event

Adults

Join us for a special Southwood Seniors gathering as we hear from Charlie Francis and his therapy dog Bosley, who serve together as a volunteer therapy team in the Lincoln community. Charlie and Bosley regularly visit senior living communities, memory care units, Southwood worship services, and other locations around Lincoln. Wherever they go, Bosley has a way of bringing smiles, comfort, and conversation to those they meet.

At this event, Charlie will share how therapy dogs are trained, what their visits typically look like, and the meaningful ways these simple interactions can brighten someone’s day. You’ll also hear stories from their visits and learn how a wagging tail can become a small but powerful ministry of presence and care. Come discover how animals can play a unique role in serving others and get the chance to pet Bosley.

A catered meal will be served. Bring a dessert to share if you wish. $5 freewill donation.
