Psalm 148
Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord from the heavens; praise him in the heights above. Praise him, all his angels; praise him, all his heavenly hosts. Praise him, sun and moon; praise him, all you shining stars. Praise him, you highest heavens and you waters above the skies. Let them praise the name of the Lord, for at his command they were created, and he established them for ever and ever - he issued a decree that will never pass away. Praise the Lord from the earth, you great sea creatures and all ocean depths, lightning and hail, snow and clouds, stormy winds that do his bidding, you mountains and all hills, fruit trees and all cedars, wild animals and all cattle, small creatures and flying birds, kings of the earth and all nations, you princes and all rulers on earth, young men and women, old men and children. Let them praise the name of the Lord, for his name alone is exalted; his splendor is above the earth and the heavens. And he has raised up for his people a horn, the praise of all his faithful servants, of Israel, the people close to his heart. Praise the Lord. Psalm 148 (NIV)
Psalm 148 revolves around all creation praising God in unity & harmony. What a beautiful thought. Imagine all heavenly beings, earthly beings, creatures large & small shouting praises in their own unique way at the same time. It makes me think of a beautiful symphony with perfect harmony.
How often in our world today do we participate in unity or harmony with others? There is some harmony along with some division, too. What would it look like if our differences could be set aside to unite in harmony towards a common effort more often? Better still if that common effort was around praise of our Lord! Can cat & mouse unite to honor the common home they share? Can we set aside preferences for a specific team in order to honor the sport (for a while)? Can we find common ground with those who have different values or beliefs and unite as humans? What a beautiful symphony that could be!

Prayer:
God, we praise you for EVERYTHING! Your creation is amazing & we are blessed to be a small part of it. Help us to recognize all the beauty that surrounds us. Help us to realize how BIG this world you have created is & find ways to join with all creatures & beings to unite together in LOVE with YOU. Amen.
