Deuteronomy 30:11-14
Now what I am commanding you today is not too difficult for you or beyond your reach. It is not up in heaven, so that you have to ask, “Who will ascend into heaven to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?” Nor is it beyond the sea, so that you have to ask, “Who will cross the sea to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?” No, the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart so you may obey it. Deuteronomy 30:11-14 (NIV)
Every now and again, we need a reminder of how close God is to us. Particularly when life gets difficult. In those times it can feel like we would have to swim across an ocean or be on another planet before it gets better. This passage is a small reminder that God was, is, and will be with us in our hearts.
This passage also reminds me of the great gift of God’s grace. We are all sinners, and nothing we can do will change that. We cannot earn salvation. Only through the grace of God through the death and resurrection of His Son Jesus Christ do we receive eternal life. The Holy Spirit now lives in our hearts so that we may follow him and spread the Good Word.
How wonderful it is knowing that God does not stay up in heaven, but He came down through Jesus. Through the good times and the bad, He stays with us guiding us through life.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank you for the great gift of Jesus and the Grace of everlasting life that comes to us through his death and resurrection. Help us to remember that you are always with us.
