John 14:25–27
“All this I have spoken while still with you. But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:25–27 (NIV)
There are times in life when everything feels uncertain. Plans shift, responsibilities grow, and we’re left wondering if we’re ready for what’s ahead. Jesus knew His disciples would face moments like that too. As He prepared them for what was coming, He didn’t promise a step-by-step plan—but He did promise peace and the Holy Spirit, who would be with them every step of the way.
I remember a time when I felt totally unprepared for what was ahead. We were building our business from the ground up, and I was walking into a season filled with pressure and unknowns. I longed for answers, but what I received instead was peace. Not the kind the world offers through distractions or quick fixes, but the kind of peace that comes when you know you’re not walking alone.
Now, as we’re growing our business again, I feel that same mix of excitement and uncertainty—but also a deep peace. That peace is how I know we’re doing the right thing. God was faithful then, and He is faithful now. His Spirit continues to guide, to comfort, and to remind me that He’s in every detail.
Pentecost reminds us that the Holy Spirit came just like Jesus said He would—and He’s still here, living in us, bringing peace and clarity when we need it most.
Maybe you’re standing at the edge of something new, something big, and you're not sure if you're ready. Hear this promise from Jesus again: “Peace I leave with you… Do not be afraid.” That promise still holds true today.
Questions for Reflection:
- Where in your life do you feel that familiar mix of excitement and uncertainty?
- How have you seen the Holy Spirit bring peace or clarity in moments when you needed it most?
Prayer:
God, You know what’s on my heart. I’ve felt the pressure of the unknown before, and I’m feeling it again now. But this time, I can recognize Your peace in it all—and that’s how I know You’re in it. Thank You for walking beside me as we step into another season of growth. Help me keep my eyes on You when things feel overwhelming. Remind me that I don’t have to have it all figured out to follow where You lead. Thank You for sending the Holy Spirit to teach me, guide me, and settle my anxious heart. I trust You with what’s next. Amen.
