1 Chronicles 16:23-25

Sing to the Lord, all the earth; proclaim his salvation day after day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples. For great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; he is to be feared above all Gods. 1 Chronicles 16:23-25 (NIV)

The Lord is great, and to be greatly praised and to be feared above all gods. This statement is not admitting there are other gods but is referencing all the false and pagan and false “gods” that were worshiped during Israel’s history.

Many times we neglect our personal relationship with God and fail to be aware of and appreciate all He has done for us. Much of the time we are so caught up in our personal lives, a crisis or difficulty, that these are the only things we think about and unload all this upon Him. And He wants this. He wants us to bring our burdens and worries to Him.

But God loves and delights in the praise of His people who recognize His works throughout our lives.

Questions for Reflection:

  • Do you share your difficulties and worries with God?
  • Do you praise God for all your blessings?
  • If you regularly share your difficulties and worries, but don’t routinely praise God for your blessings, how can you change this?
  • Do you feel God’s presence in your life, during both bad times and as well as good?

Prayer

Lord, thank you for all you have given and provided to us. Help us to be aware of you on a constant basis and praise the blessings and goodness you have given to us in our lives.
Keep us from developing a self-centered perspective but instead recognizing and praising your glory. Help us to trust in You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen

PraiseBlessed
